Chris is a registered Professional Simulation Engineer with NAFEMS, an independent engineering analysis body, that have certified Chris as an expert practitioner within multiple fields of engineering, including:

• FEA, Material Modelling & Mechanics
• Fatigue, Buckling, Dynamics & Vibration
• Verification, Validation & Analysis Management

He has held the position of Lead Analyst and acted as Technical Authority at major defence automotive and marine engineering organisations and brings that experience to technically demanding analysis programmes at Simulated Solutions.

Chris is also a member of the NAFEMS Impact, Shock and Crash Working Group, contributing to the effective use of explicit dynamic analysis internationally.

Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in the application of numerical methods to the study of a wide scope of implicit and explicit structural and thermal problems. This has included analysis ranging from linear and complex non-linear statics through crash and ballistics to high-explosive detonation, blast propagation and hydrodynamics.

Chris has led the design, planning and supervision of precision model validation experiments as well as large-scale blast test programmes.

Specialising in blast and high-rate dynamics, Chris has worked at large government defence organisations holding positions of both Team Leader and Technical Authority.

With over 25 years' experience of performing stress analysis, Ian is an expert practitioner of industry recognised software across the automotive, aerospace, mining and defence industries.

Ian has filled a senior technical role at McLaren automotive and was an integral crash analyst for Ferrari, optimising their body-in-white structures to achieve regulatory crash standards with minimum mass solutions.

Ian has led CAE development of an innovative EV battery, ensuring the structural integrity of the battery and casing is sufficient when subjected to abuse, durability and vibration load profiles.

Dr Jon Farley is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and holds a PhD in Material science. Jon has 18 years experience working on global defence, energy and infrastructure projects, and is a Principal of the Register of Security Engineers & Specialists.

Jon has a background in advanced simulation techniques and applies his knowledge and expertise on projects across a range of industries.

Jon has operated as regional team lead and technical sign-off in previous roles and has authored multiple papers on the subject of blast and ballistic protection and protective security design.

Oliver is a Certified SolidWorks Professional and Professional Simulation Engineer.

He completed his Bachelor's degree at The University of West England where he focused on FEA of friction stir welding methods.

Since Oliver joined Simulated Solutions in the summer of 2023 and he has focused his attention on explicit dynamic analysis. His keen interest in bespoke modifications to classic Land Rovers gives him a hands-on approach to engineering which is reflected in his pragmatic approach to finding practical design solutions.

Lucy supports the systems that allow Simulated Solutions to deliver client work securely and consistently. She is CompTIA Network+ certified and helps maintain the company's IT and information-security environment.

Her responsibilities include supporting Cyber Essentials Plus compliance and protecting client data, alongside upkeep of the quality management system, internal policies and processes.

Lucy also supports our ISO 9001 quality-management and JOSCAR registration activities, providing the operational foundation behind the engineering team.
